The interface with some upgrades icons
In The Desolate Hope, it is possible to buy various items and upgrades in each of the simulations .— Coffee to the player.
These can be purchased from the friendly pieces of code with chips as currency. Some of them appear in a graphic interface on the left side of the screen every time the player is in a simulation. However their inventory varies from each simulation and can contain either items or upgrades.

Trivia
- Fourthsight is the only item that gives the ability to see the fourth virus of each simulation. It can be purchased in Uunom's store in Miradmoore for 2000 bits.
- It is impossible to access Alphus's first virus without purchasing the Hoverpack.
